Secretary, Annapoorna Breakfast Programme
Anand Kumar Kadali is an experienced professional in the software industry, having worked in global companies such as Hewlett Packard Enterprise, HCL and Dimension Data. He currently serves as an Enterprise Sales Manager at a global software development firm. In July 2012, he identified a needy village about 20 km from his home in Bangalore, and started serving breakfast to about 50 school‐going children in the village. He did this every day before going to office, with support from his family and other like-minded individuals.
Encouraged by the response from the beneficiary children, villagers and volunteers, he began to add more and more schools for serving breakfast, and the Annapoorna Trust was formed to govern the operations as it grew in scale and complexity. Professionally, Anand has a proven track record of providing tailored IT infrastructure, channel management, and security related solutions for companies, keeping in mind applications and technologies that will rightly position them for future. He has emerged as a trusted consultant, working with decision makers at CXO level leaders of organizations of various sizes, where he has been invited as SME speaker.
Anand has also worked closely with government officials up to the level of ministers, CMs and MPs, while promoting Annapoorna’s cause of alleviating child hunger at government schools. Anand has also shown the ability to inspire large number of volunteers to plunge into action in community service. Today, Annapoorna serves 1,10,000 children in over 1500 schools across 12 states, with the help of 500+ volunteers and support from several thousands of school staff. For his social service work, Anand derives inspiration from the life, times and messages of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, who preached and practiced the principle of selfless service to humanity. Anand is a Certified Information Systems Auditor. He holds an Engineering degree from Andhra University and MBA from ICFAI University, Hyderabad. He continues to live in Bangalore with his wife and his two young school‐going children.
