LEAD is an incubator where innovation meets implementation, knowledge meets experience,
social issues meet solutions and efforts meet impact.
The LEaders Accelerating Development (LEAD) program strives to build problem solving and entrepreneurial aptitudes among university students. LEAD's mission is simple and impactful: have students take up issues of concern and implement solutions in a stipulated time frame.
"Complaints... start with they, Solutions... start with I" With this quote in mind, thousands of young students are bringing their ideas to life and solving major problems in their communities. The Hubli-based LEAD Program of the Deshpande Foundation provides financial support and guidance to college students to help them generate and implement their own innovative ideas, giving them practical exposure to leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship.
LEAD has been growing steadily since 2008, and now consists of 21276+ students, 3067+ and leaders, 5360+ leadership projects, reaching 2.1 million lives. We have partnered with 80+ Colleges in 4 states: 20 districts of Karanataka, 3 districts of Telangana, 3 districts in Maharashtra and 1 of Tamil Nadu.
LEAD Program was formed in the year 2008 by Naveen Jha. Inception of LEAD happened when Naveen Jha heard the ideas of students who wanted to make a positive impact in the society. Named as "Colors of Youth", they brainstormed and implemented few innovative projects.
With the success of "Colors of Youth", Deshpande Foundation started supporting many projects and as the number of energetic students increased, a need for separate program was felt. Hence on Aug. 15, 2008, LEAD was founded.
